Woman Dies in Crash, Driver Badly Hurt

Citizen.com of Laconia, New Hampshire reported today:

A local woman is dead and her companion seriously injured after a one-car accident late Saturday night on Route 3.

Police said Nicholas Downing, age 26, of Campton was driving north Route 3 in a 2009 VW Jetta when he lost control while attempting to round a curve in the roadway. He traveled across the roadway and slammed into a large tree before the car stopped in the southbound lane.
