TRIAL WIN: Berman & Simmons Attorney Michael Bigos secures $304,000 Verdict in Brain Injury Case
On November 1, 2019, a Cumberland County, Maine jury returned a $304,000.00 verdict to a Portland man who suffered a serious concussion and bodily injuries following a 2014 single car crash.
The victim, Daniel Manning, was a backseat passenger in the car driven by a drunk driver that crashed into a tree. Manning suffered a concussion, a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), dystonia, and other serious injuries. Due to his extensive rehabilitation, he was forced to leave his job as a landscape foreman and pursue a new career.
“The jury spoke loudly for this brain injury survivor whose life was instantly changed for the worse, through no fault of his own,” said attorney Michael Bigos, who represented Manning. “Brain damage is hard to see and understand. I am grateful that this trial put a picture together that the jury could see.”
