Berman & Simmons Continues its Tradition of Holiday Giving

The attorneys and staff members at Berman & Simmons are proud to contribute holiday gifts, much needed supplies, and financial donations to these local organizations during the 2019 holiday season: The Store Next Door Project, Outright L/A, Maple Hill Farms, and Wreaths Across America.

  • The Store Next Door Project at Lewiston High School supports homeless and displaced students by supplying food, clothing, hygiene products, and basic supplies. Outright L-A supports LGBTQ+ youth who are often overlooked, homeless and at risk. Both organizations address basic needs in addition to providing emotional support, encouragement, community referrals, connections to services and education/awareness about advocacy, harm reduction, suicide prevention, consent and sexual health.
  • The Sanctuary at Maple Hill Farm provides equine welfare and protection services by taking in homeless and neglected horses and rehabilitating them so they can once again be useful. They offer workshops, seminars, and events throughout the year.  The Heart to Horse Program provides volunteer opportunities and coaching for disabled youth and adults, returning riders, and veterans. Their Maple Hill Creative Horsemanship Team participates in Special Olympics and provides a youth/equine development program.  Their moto is “Horses. People. Possibilities.”
  • Wreaths Across America will be at Maine Veterans Cemetery on December 14th to remember Maine’s veterans through the laying of wreaths on our country’s fallen heroes and saying each name in a ceremony of honor.

These holiday contributions are part of Berman & Simmons’ year-long commitment to giving back to the community it serves.
